Transitioning from a 3-person van to a functional home for a family of 4 is the hardest design challenge in van life. If you get the geometry wrong, you end up with an unlivable, cramped space or a van that is dangerously over its payload limit.
What we have created is a concept blueprint for our 7.5m Iveco Daily build, and optimised to fit two adults, an 8-year-old, and a newborn safely and comfortably on the road. This is the blueprint for the actual conversion that I will be building over time.
What’s Included:
The Family Seating Strategy: Where are all the chairs, and where to add a chassis-anchored, M1-rated passenger seat setup to ensure everyone is safe while in motion and be functional when stopped without impacting living space.
Modular Living Modules: Using a centrally located linear kitchen, a fully enclosed shower room/toilet, and the transformable master bed/sofa swap bunk system.
The Kids' Zone: Spacing for the modular bunk system that can be a bedroom, playspace, or classroom
The Storage Setup: How we engineered a split rear garage with space for a wardrobe to house essentials for a family of four.
